How to recognize a Guru who has attained self-realisation?

O Aspirant!

  • The Guru who has attained self-realisation is like a fire. As the fire burns whoever touches it, the Guru(who knows the real nature) transmits his power to those who touch him. Such people will experience the supreme bliss and some unknown state of being wholly absorbed in the object of meditation immediately.
  • The moment you sit in front of the Guru, who has attained self-realisation, your mind automatically becomes still and calm. In the presence of such a Guru, your mind will be fixed firmly. You do not know how time fleets. Hours will pass like minutes.

Here are some more proofs or standards to recognize the Guru who has attained self-realisation:
  • He speaks more and more on the true nature of the soul and of God.
  • Whatever be the question put to him, he promptly gives the most convincing reply. His words will be straightforward and very clear.
  •  When asked about "When he attained self-realisation?", he would answer very promptly
  • If you ask him to describe that state of mind, he explains it very gladly.
  • He can explain any Upanishad aphorism nicely, even though he did not receive it from his Guru. He can teach any Shastra (scripture).

Unlike this, if you ask the Guru who has not attained self-realisation, he avoids direct reply and says something beating around the bush, which you cannot understand. This the best standard for you to recognize the Guru who has attained self-realisation.

There is another way to recognize a Siddhaguru:
  • The Guru who has attained self-realisation will have the capacity to make others attain self-realisation.
  • He will have the capacity to do 'Shaktipatam' to others, to awaken the kundalini in them. The reason is: these capacity achievements are the natural characteristics of the Guru who has attained self-realisation.
  • The moment he touches you, cosmic power will be transmitted to you.You will have some divine experiences immediately.
  • The Guru who attained self-realisation can be in any way. They may lead a secular life or non-secular(ascetic) life.
  •  We should not see their physical appearance (Ex: Dress code, Number of disciples). We must see their wisdom, energy, devotion, sanctity and capability. Based on this we must decide their greatness, but not seeing their age.
